Use a grouped product when customers should choose individual products and quantities. Use a fixed bundle when every purchase must include the same required items and quantities.

Choose the right product type
Grouped product or fixed bundle?
Use a grouped product when shoppers should choose separate products or quantities from a range. Use a fixed bundle when every purchase must contain the same items and quantities.

Fixed bundle example
One notebook. Two blue marker sets.
The store owner selects the Workshop Notebook simple product with quantity 1 and the Blue variation of Marker Set with quantity 2. Customers cannot remove an item, change a quantity, or switch the selected variation.

- Keeps purchased product IDs, SKUs, names, quantities, prices, tax, and currency.
What Advanced Bundles Free locks
The bundle definition controls what customers receive. WooCommerce still controls component commerce data.
Required quantities
Set a positive whole-number quantity for every component. Customers cannot change it in Free.
Combined stock checks
The cart counts all required quantities, including the same component used by more than one bundle. Checkout validates stock again.
Item-level order records
Purchased component details are saved with the order so later product edits do not rewrite the original purchase.

Install the Free ZIP
Upload and activate the installable Advanced Bundles Free release from Plugins → Add New Plugin.

Create a Bundle product
Add a WooCommerce product, then choose Bundle in the Product data list.

Choose components and quantities
Select each simple product or exact variation and enter its required quantity.

Publish and test
Add the bundle to a test cart and verify every component, quantity, stock result, tax, shipping charge, and total.

Can a WooCommerce grouped product force exact quantities?
No. Grouped Products let shoppers select individual products and quantities from one page. Use a fixed bundle when every item and quantity must be required.
Can a fixed bundle contain a product variation?
Yes. Advanced Bundles Free lets the store owner choose an exact variation. Customers receive that configured variation.
Can shoppers change component quantities?
No. Free uses the quantities configured by the store owner. Customer quantity choices and ranges are not included.
What happens when one component is out of stock?
The bundle cannot be purchased when a required component quantity is unavailable and backorders are not allowed. Stock is checked in the cart and again before checkout.
Can the bundle have a separate fixed price or discount?
No. Advanced Bundles Free totals current component prices. Separate fixed-price and discount strategies are not included.
